Default New Stillwater statute

Hi guys

A heads up for TWO new 'laws'......the first:

From 27th March 2009 If you own/lease etc a STILLWATER of ANY size which you MAY want to stock with fish or remove fish (under section 30) then you have until 1st August to register with CEFAS using form RW1 for 'fisheries' or RW2 for 'cropping and harvesting' waters.
So this one effects Angling Clubs, Syndicates,Farmers with ponds,Fish Farms and Joe Public

The second: There is a new addition to the Reservoirs Act on its way.
This will see larger ponds etc, which were not under the current statute, be brought into the law and assessed by impact risk for flooding and damage. It will also require you to have a 'reservoir engineer' to inspect the water periodically.(I have two engineers, one northern based one southern based that I have already primed if anyone 'feels the need' to be prepared)
This effects anybody or person who has ANY volume of water that MAY put property or life at risk.

The fist one I only was notified of today even though it is already active and heading for the deadline

The second has a longer time-scale as it is still in finalisation.

Any chance of having this one 'sticky' for a while admin as I'm sure someone will miss the deadline and have no stocking option ......mmmmmm maybe that's not a bad thing OR go illegal

Hi moray n 3lb

Are both these already up and running in Scotland

I wonder if people don't realise how important it is to register a water......if its not done before 1st August......it's gone for ever......as a resource for angling or stocking.

If for example you had a fishery which is fine now...then a pollution occurs at a future date.....un-registered it will not be able to be re-stocked AT ALL

hi Sedgeking
appreciate the thumbs up,we have been established for over 15years now,(not that Iv been there that long),we are fully upto date with all the regulations required for the fishery and have our license for restocking etc, which has to be renewed on a yearly basis.
just more form filling as normal and growing and as much use as a choclate frog im afraid.
but i do thank you as if we were not aware its something to look at as you say.

another form of legalised extortion to extract money from hard working individuals and clubs . its alot of sh*te thought up by idiots who know little or nothing about how a fishery actually works and how difficult it is to generate money never mind profit.

Its becoming more hassle year after year.
