For Fisheries there's Markle at East Linton , about 40 minutes from Edinburgh or Allandale Tarn at West Calder at about 25 minutes from the town. There ae a vast amount of B&B's about, depends on where you would rather be based. Email the tourist inforamtion to request a listings of those in an are you fancy staying!

Water of Leith right on you door step, plus its free, pop round to country life at Balgreen they will keep you right.

Failing that there are plenty of still waters round about Harlaw is probably closest, natural browns plus stocked with rainbows.
Also worth a shot Clubbiedean, Glencorse, Loganlea, and loads of others.
The tackle shop is close to Murrayfeid, and very helpfull.

HARLAW

Try Roslinlea about twenty minutes away. Small water but excellent quality fish. You can have 4 hours catch & release for around £10.00. You won't be disappointed.

I used to run across it nigh on every night when I lived in Edinburgh. Lovely, tranquil-looking river: used to lift my spirits when I crossed it.

Fish the water of Leith, it runs along the back of Murrayfield stadium. Great wee stream, plenty of troots but pretty well educated

Scott,

Just as a matter of interest, is that the weir at Ford's Road (by Saughton Park)? Don't think I've had much sucess in that pool, plenty of fish out the run below that though
