As you are flagged up as 'in the NorthWest' I would reccomend you look for a Wilkinsons Store . Thats where I bought mine 'Traditional Moth Balls - Tiger Tim Brand from the Halifax shop. There are shops in Carlisle and Lancaster . This link may help you locate a store [URL="http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/page/store"URL]. Hope this helps,
Len E

My wife bought some hang up sachets similar to these , they emit an insecticide vapour. I put 1 in each drawer of my fly tying desk. Bob

Talking

Found another (postal) source for exactly the same moth balls [URL="http://www.partridges.uk.com/catalog/household-insecticides-vermin-control-c-495_61.html?page=2&sort=2a"url] . The firm is Partridges . Napthalene does 'stink' a little when the original supply box is opened but if you keep your materials in dedicated airtight food containers (never again to be used for food !!! ) you acheive two things 1 ) Smell contained 2) Crawly and flying things kept out .
There is a current 'fashion' for Cedarwood Balls for the wardrobe and clothes drawers but I am not sure that these would be effective at all for tying materials.
I use old 35 mm plastic film cassette cases with holes drilled in them to hold the moth balls in my tying material containers rather than break them up or handle them too much.
I have not found anything on a ban within the UK re Napthalene for this purpose ( domestic moth )

Default A Handy Hint

If you do get moths, put all your effected materials in bags and put in the freezer for a day. They ate the fibres off one of my JC capes once but left the eyes. Perfect. Shame they buggered all my hen capes though!
