Default Loch Corrib end of May beginning of June

I'm looking to tie a few patterns and would like some advice.
I may well have missed the May fly by then so what else would be good. I imagine sedge will show. Any other thoughts?

Thanks

Richard

Richard,
Ive seen the mayfly in some part of the corrib hatch well into the first week of June, but not as prolific as other hatches, so you wont go far wrong fishing a mayfly nymph ( weighted or non weighted, get your zones right)on the point with two apple green, black, blood red buzzers on the droppers, and fish them buzzer style in and around the bays during the day and towards evening, and keep an eye out for a sedge hatch which you can also put on the point (sedge pupa, with weight or non, as above).
In a wave during the day the dabblers can sometimes be good, as the fish can at this stage turn on the fry, but remember they are still feeding and not stuffed with the Mayfly as some anglers predict.
It's up to you to find out where in the water layers they are feeding at this time and the buzzer fishing can obtain this for you with weighted point flies on the point to get down through the layers.
Also remember the caenis early morning i.e. 05.00hrs, as this can be productive also, a good pattern here in the Grey Duster by two on a 20 foot leader.
Have Fun.
Dave
