The compartments are usually for dry flies, so they wont get crushed. I would stick a few nymphs in the foam part and set this box aside for trips to the river.

I was thinking about putting dry flies in the compartments and weighted nymphs in the foam. Or a few flies like Baetis Nymphs and Ammonites in the compartments.

I don't really use dry flies much.

Hi ArcticFoxFly

This is a type of box that lends itself quite well to being a basic "Rivers" box.

Not too many patterns.....but with size variants of each.

Try to cover 'groups'.....like sedges wet and dry, chironomid wet and dry,un-weighted and tungsten nymphs and olives etc....but in sizes too.... from 16-22 for example.

After a couple of seasons(and adjustments).....this will be probably be the only box you will use

Thanks for the replies.

I sorted the fly box out yesterday. I have put in the flies which I normally use in it.
