Default poachers in the area

This is not just for fishery owners but also all anglers as in the end it effects all of us.I was told today that there are poachers working stillwaters with electro rods and taking fish.they are using a white renault van

Not meaning to tar everyone with the same brush as there are good/bad people in all walks of life etc, but I did read some where that the Poles/Lithuanians etc were good at whipping out fish of all types from ponds and small fisheries.

Time to let the lease on the dogs a bit longer me thinks.

Our many foreign friends have completely emptied my local canal of fish. It's a fact that this will only worsen as the econmic downturn continues.

time for us all to keep our eyes open!

It's been pretty widely reported in the angling press already and isn't limited to game fish.

Attitudes towards fish and fish stocks are wildly different in other parts of Europe and often they're unaware that they're doing anything illegal. I've already made contact with the EA regarding the removal of fish from my local river but unfortuneately there was little they could do at that time.

Can't remember where i read it as it was a while ago now.

But they don't just limit themselves to the fish. they were taking swans as well.
Obviously there was an out cry and something was done about it seeing as though swans are under the protection of the Queen. Maybe it's about time Charles put fish under his protection

I've eaten carp in Romania and the supermarket close to were i was staying had a large tank in the fish department with 3 - 5lb mirrors swimming about in for you to take your pick.

There not to my taste being very bony and having a fatty flesh. I would never ever dream of chapping one of them over the head to take home for the pot
But to them it's just the done thing

Don't know how helpful your local Police are , but do keep them informed as some poachers are violent.

seen as you have the reg plate on the van it would be best to contact the local police, they can then run it through the PNC and follow it up from there.

Thieving pikey bar stewards!

After the hard work fishery owners put in to get a place going and keep it going at prices we can afford, it makes my blood boil that these scumbags come along and spoil it. A cost that will likely be passed on to us.

(not a pop at you fishery owners btw - just a logical conclusion as you can't be expected to carry the can for your costs increasing as a result of this)

I hope they are punished to the full extent of the law. (ha ha that will happen)

Fishery owners to carry human size priests??

Simple but effective method is a bit of tyre slashing that stops them coming near you water again .
