Default Rosie Lee the fishery manager

In my day job I get some questions which do make me laugh and wonder.
for instance:-

on a monday,
Whats the weather like for Saturday?
How many fish have you got in the water?
When did you stock?
Will I catch a fish if I come on friday?
What are the fish eating?
How deep are the fish?
Do you think it will rain on sunday?
I want to go fishing but I dont want to catch a fish ?
What flies catching?(and put something completly the opposite of suggestion)
Why are the fish not taking?
Fish are rising everywhere but not taking my fly, im on a sinking line.

Some you can guess at, some you can answer, some just without a crystal ball you cant. But they do cheer me up and some do confuse me.lol
Have you ever asked any of the above?or heard anything like these questions.

I'll give you more!
'How much is it to fish here, but do you have to buy a ticket? (This is genuine)
'I'm I guaranteed to catch if I come?'' 'I know you're closed, but can I get an hours fishing for me & my son?' And after I suggest a smaller, more naturalstic fly; 'How are fish meant to see that?' And the favourite at the very beginning of the morning 'What depth are they at ', when no one else has wetted a line yet.

Oh & ' Can the 3/4 of us chip in for one permit & catch a fish each?' Or on a C/R only permit on Fly ' What if I catch a big fish, can I keep it?'
I'll think of more later!..

It's often said that' there's no harm in asking. If you don't ask you don't get!'. But some folk should maybe think twice first! Lol! Ah the joys!..

I remember a man asking when looking through a new pair of binoculars outside a shop, how far they could see and the shop manager instantly replied "well at least 93 million miles" !

Im relativley new to this game, but can i ask whats wrong with asking when the place was stocked?
And i always ask what flies have been best?
Are these silly questions?

Very good Kevin gave me a good laugh, but you still haven't answered the question, will it rain on Sunday.

Some of them aren't daft questions in themselves ie; whats catching & the depths etc, it's the timing that's silly. Meaning, that at the beginning of the day, your guess may well be as good as the person working at the fishery, slightly better experienced guess perhaps, but as fish habits change with the climate/enviroment etc, trully the best ones to advise are your fellow anglers. So ask those that are catching. Even be a bit cheeky & ask to spoon a fish the've kept for the best ideas! As for the weather questions, well even the so called professional get it wrong so how are fishery managers meant to foretell !
