Just thought I'd introduce myself before posting on the forum. I've just re- kindled my interest in trout fly fishing. A member of fishingmagic dot com, I've fished for coarse, game and sea fish since the late 60s. Currently based in Surrey, I am from Hampshire originally, close to both the Test and Itchen although I have to say that chalkstream fly fishing is far too expensive for my pocket.
I enjoy small stillwater stalking and have fished Avington, Dever Springs, Damerham, Rockbourne, Leominstead and one or two others, albeit a long time ago now.

Anyway, I don't want to bore you with too many details for now. Looking forward to joining in on some of the discussions on the forum.

Cheers, Rich Drayson

Rich, welcome to the forum and I trust you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Being in Surrey, you are also close to two nice waters that I have frequented; Hazelcopse and Frensham both special in their own way.

Hazelcopse is not pretty but cheap and very hard fighting fish whilst Frensham is classic English woodland, very pretty, more expensive and a joy to fish.

I hope you enjoy your time on this Forum.

If you get on the grapevine and look hard you can find day ticket chalkstream fishing - sometime for wild fish - at little more than Avington or Dever prices.
