Default Chalk Springs

Has anybody fished Chalk Springs in Arundel recently. The fishery was up for sale in T and S recently and I just wondered if a change of owners had affected the quality of the fishing. I note on their website that the recent catch info has not been updated since Feb and wondered if the stocking policy had been similarly affected. Any feedback would be good as I am visiting Sussex in April and have enjoyed my visits to Chalk Springs in the past
Many thanks
Mike

HI Mike, i fished it last week. Water was crystal clear again, loads of stockies caught between 2 and 3 1/2lb. Not many larger rainbows in at the moment it would seem. The browny season starts here on the 3rd April.
Apparently it was only the lease up for renewal and according to the member of staff i spoke to, there wont be any changes, business as usual.
hth, steve

I've seen how much it is for the day tickets up to end of march but how much does it rise by in April?

Hi Taff, I'm fishing at Chalk Springs this Fri. Weather isn't what I wanted but hey-ho... it's a day on the bank side!
Will report back over the weekend.

Fished there today and decided on just a half-day as the weather forecast looked bleak. The wind was a real pain, strong gusts (nearly lost my hat on several occasions) but had an enjoyable few hours there.
OK...the water is gin clear with lots of fish showing including some into double-figures. I think everyone took their bag limit and I tried my best to be a little selective, casting to the bigger fish with a variety of stalking-bugs, nymphs etc but they weren't interested... seen it all before, bought the T-shirt... you know what I mean?

Ticket prices for 2008/2009.
Long Day Ticket £41.00 - 5 fish limit.
Day Ticket £37.00 - 4 fish limit.
Half Day Ticket £31.00 - 3 fish limit (7 hours).
Half Day/Evening Ticket £24.00 - 2 fish limit (5 hours).

Wicked, think I may venture out on Sunday provided the weather is ok. Still unsure about whether or not to go here or Chiphall though? as it's closer. Thanks for the update and bad luck on the lack of a catch. Did you get any bites at all?

Hi Taff, yes...I managed to winkle out a couple of 'stockies' to 3lb. I was targetting the bigger fish but the smaller fish are so fast and seem to come up from knowhere and grab your fly. Still, an enjoyable day out all the same.
Where is Chiphall?
