Default Camera, Help!

Hi All,
Hope this thread is in the right place?

I managed to kill a £300, Cannon Ixus, last week! - Dropped it when taking a photo of a Rainbow Trout I caught In the river Taff' (probably an escapee from the Reservoir) the Taff' is a Brown Trout River!

Anyhow, I'm in the market for a WP,Digital Camera! - I need some help on deciding what to get? What would you recommend? I don't want to spend a lot; I've already killed one camera! - I thought about a second-hand used camera, maybe a Pentax Optio, W10, 20, 30, or something similar!

Any advise, would be appreciated, or if someone is thinking of selling a WP,camera? Please let me know!

Here's a photo of the Rainbow Trout!

First of all what is your budget? Whatever you do don't think that buying a camera with more pixels will be better than one with a lower number of pixels.

In the £200-300 price range you are entering budget DSLR territory, a very good camera is the Nikon D40, most camera stores are selling them for about £250.

My wife has a Optio W10 which she uses while sea kayaking and has taken some fantastic shots with.
I also think Olympus do a compact waterproof.
Have a look on this website: http://www.dpreview.com/ where you will find all the info needed.

What sort are you looking for?

Point and Shoot or a DSLR.

I'm assuming you'd prefer a good P&S seeing as there smaller and more manageable for stowing away in the vest/bag.

Set yourself a budget and do a google search on P&S within that range see what it comes up with then spend a few hours looking through the review sites to see what sort of a reviews the ones that take your fancy have been given.

Camera's have come a long way in the past few years in fact some camera phones are also coming in to the lime light with the likes of the new 8mp's ones hitting the market
This was one I took and edited on my phone the other day.

I've still not had a look at all the features on it yet but I'll be having a play around to see what else it can do.
