Welcome Guy, hope you find it useful on here, sure you will.
Please don't use the Guinness drinking symbol too often, it just makes me want a pint.
Cheers Steven.

Hi', Guy. Welcome to the FFF. Quite a few lads who contribute regularly on here are from the north-east -- Geordie Carl is one. He's from Annfield Plain, where I learned to make and fly kites off the top of the pit heaps as a 12-year old on holiday. Sixty-two years ago, but Carl told me by pm that it hadn't changed a great deal since I was there. Is that 'Blue Star' you're drinking, dyed black?
Cheers TC
PS Do you ever get up to Fontburn or Sweethope Lough? It's a long run from Penrith, but my late fishing pal and I had the odd really good day on the Great Lough, back in the 1980s and 90s.

Smile

thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!

terry i was up at sweethope a couple of fridays ago, fished the small lough off the high bank as the wind was pretty wild on the great lough. i took 9 on a simple black fritz, i heard one angler say "a black fritz is all you need" , i thought to myself, there is a bit more to it than that sometimes!!! The problem with fontburn is you keep getting your fly caught on umbrellas, bite alarms and 4 packs of lager so i tend to keep away. shame as its a lovely water and would be a great place to fish, if you could pack all the bait anglers into a distant corner!!

Do you fish estwaite/watendlath??
