Default Fishing on the big screen

With the exception of A River Runs Through It, can anyone recommend any other fishing related feature films? I've seen Jaws.

Probably the best is "Old man and the sea" the original Spencer Tracy version. He had an oscar nomination for his role in this film.

Catch it if you can and don't be put off cause it's in B&W.

That's an easy one and now you've reminded me I'll be looking to watch it again.

Not sure about the big screen but did anybody see the new one on sky with Bob Nunn? The right angle or something. I thought it was quite good.

Just watched it again...in colour! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052027/ Never known about the b&w version. Excellent film though, but as always not a patch on the book. There is a film which shows on one of the sky channels (up around 325) called "Fly-fishing", which has nothing whatsoever to do with it, so be warned! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285103/

I've never seen a river runs through it and am going to try and acquire a copy for tonight.

Loopy, I don't recall much about fishing in that Leonardo Di Caprio film and I'm sure it was in colour.

All of the above are very good and On Golden Pond is excellent.

I'd have to recommend Moby Dick.
