Default river habitat improvements

Well Iv been asked to give some advice to a local land owner who wants to improve his part of the river for wild brownies.
The stretch at the moment is about a foot deep on average but is very straight with no trees or bank cover.
Any idea,s for quick fix and long term?
Thanks in advance.

Contact the WTT on this email address: projects@wildtrout.org and ask to be booked in for an Advisory Visit (AV). These are FREE to the recipients (paid for by EA licence money and corporate sponsors). This will result in a report on everything you need to know about how to put the habitat in the best possible state for wild trout - both resident brownies and migratory sea trout.

Default WTT Advisory

This is definitely the way forward speaking from experience with my local river currently being restored by volunteers, the WTT are an excellent organisation and have shown full support and kept things simple for a numpty like me .

Pm if unsure about anything

Sounds like a great project. Why not ask the nearest river keeper for help. A good one will give you the best possible advice available. Might cost you a few beers.
