Default Ever been fishing and wished you hadn't bothered??!!

Just wondering if any other members had ever had a day on the water and wished that they had stayed in bed??

Fished Grafham from the bank today - having fished for a couple of hours yesterday and catching quite a few i decided to take a friend of mine insisting that i knew where they were and how to catch them. My friend wanted to go to Pitsford but i insisted on Grafham due to my inside information.

Arrived early (7.15am) to get a good spot and to try to get some action before the forcasted sunshine arrived. To cut a long story short, 8 hours later - 1 fish to me, no other pulls and knowone catching around us!

Having endured endless comments about 'how well we would have done at Pitsford' i caved in and agreed to head over to Pitsford for the last few hours.

Carried all the kit to the car and realised that i had lost my car key. Damn it. Decided that it could have fallen out of my waders when i popped up the bank for a call of nature. After 1 hour of searching, there was nothing for it - a call to the Missus to bring over the spare key (1 hour drive for her) was my only option. I knew the grief would be dreadful but what could i do?? I made the call, took all the grief and then would you believe it - my friend found the key!! The feeling was better than catching a 5lb overwintered on a dry fly! i think!

Whilst searching for my key i had managed to create a birds nest of flourcarbon. We decided to stay on at Grafham for another hour or so and i set about cutting up the nest of tippet material. I didn't notice that the front foot of my brand new Rio Midge tip was in the middle of this nest. I now have a new Rio floater.

To top all this of, I shut the car boot on my rod tip whilst packing away.

We didn't catch any more fish and the moans continued about going to pitsford for the entire journey home! AAAAARRRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was truley a day when i wished i'd stayed in bed!

Nah mate thats a day you should have went fishing alone.

If your mate hadn't been going on about going to pitsford you would never have lost your keys. If you hadn't lost your keys you wouldn't have cut your line because the leader wouldn't have got in a mess.

And you wouldn't have been that annoyed/distracted that you shut your rod in the boot lid.

Next time tell you mate to go to pitsford and you go where ever you please.
