Dear Forum Members
I'd like to cordially invite you to the
WTT 2009 Annual Get-together – Saturday 30th May, Youlgreave Village Hall, Derbyshire
This years event will see us return on our three year cycle to Derbyshire and Youlgreave Village Hall near to the Haddon Estate. The event is open to members, non-members, clubs, riparian owners and anyone interested in our conservation work. The day is great way of finding out how WTT can provide direct assistance to those wishing to undertake wild trout management and restoration projects. We have put together a list of guest speakers to talk about subjects as diverse as trout genetics and stocking through to the development of Fishing Passport Schemes.
Included in the day will be a guided river walk on the Haddon Estate (tbc). There will also a chance to test all of the latest Orvis tackle, including the new Helios range. Orvis will be offering WTT members a discount on all purchases at the nearby Bakewell store. There will be a display of riverflies provided by WTT’s Dr Paul Gaskell and Dr Cyril Bennett of the Riverfly Partnership – this will include the chance to ‘tie one of your own’ ! A small number of WTT trade members including Cookshill Fly Tying and Trent Rivers Trust will be in attendance.
Tickets, priced at £10, are available in advance, from the WTT office; this covers the cost of morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. Numbers are limited to 100 and you are advised to book early for what proved to be a very popular event in 2006.
Yours sincerely
Simon Johnson – Director (Mayfly)
