Default New man at Foremark

Just received from Severn Trent:

17th March 2009

Ifor Jones joins Foremark Fishery

Severn Trent Water is welcoming a new fishery tenant at its Foremark

Reservoir site in Derbyshire- Mr Ifor Jones.

Ifor Jones has 28 years experience of running the fishery at nearby

Thornton Reservoir and is the Chairman of the Association of Stillwater

Game Fisheries (ASGFM).

Karl James, Foremark Reservoir head ranger, said: "We are thrilled that

Ifor has joined us here at Foremark. To have someone of his calibre to

manage our trout fishery is great news and we look forward to working

closely with him.

"Foremark is a fantastic site that offers superb trout fishing throughout

the season and we look forward to opening the season on 1st April 2009."

Ifor Jones added: "I have an excellent working relationship with Severn

Trent Water, having run the fishery at Thornton Reservoir for the past 28

years. It is my goal to continue that working relationship and to have

Thornton and Foremark running in conjunction with each other to ensure

anglers enjoy the very best of the sport."

All very well, but what about the shabby way Severn Trent have treated Phil Dixon? He has put his heart and soul into turning Formark into one of the best waters around, only to have the rug pulled out from under him. I am less than impressed!

So what?? The facts still remain and so will all the bad feeling that surrounds this issue. Its sad but i feel that the loss of Phil and the bank fishing means that formark will no longer be a premier water. it's anglers will flock to other waters the most local being carsington for many. Cracking water but.........oh yeh.......controlled by seven trent. DOH!!

It doen't matter who's in charge, we ALL need to make a stand against the ignorant prats at seven trent to ensure our fishing at Draycote and carsington remains untouched. Tittesworth lost to these idiots and now formark.

I agree abou the way Severn Trent handled this matter but have to say that Ifor is an absolute Top Man..nice guy and dedicated fisherman.

Whatever happened with Severn Trent wasn't Ifor's fault and I wish him well in this business.

If Foremark had to change hands it couldn't have gone to a nicer bloke.

With the loss of some bank fishing i now feel that if i go to foremark i am being forced into hiring a boat which is starting to become a very expensive days fishing for me so instead i shall probably look for a venue with more bank access.

Never met Ifor but have heard plenty of praise for him, so wish him all the best. Just a shame ST have made his job even harder through their own-goal style of PR when it comes to his/their future trout fishing customers
