Default Fly Reels

Here goes, this is my first attempt at this. Just started fly fishing and love it. Caught a 11.25lb Rainbow on my sixth outing, absolutely hooked, although have a feeling have been spoilt with this fish so early.
Any way I have a sierra sweep 9.6feet/WF7 rod with an Avalanche 79 reel loaded with 7 floating line plus backing.
Have discovered that it balances right on the grip of the rod where I hold it, Is this correct, for when I used my friends one his seemed to feel a little top heavy which not only made it easier to cast but allowed you to feel the rod being loaded when casting??
If this effect is from the weight of the reel then would it advantageos to have a lighter reel?
Here comes the next question being, how about the Greys GRXi for the composit traditional reel.
Or the futuristic Super light Airflo Balance aluminium reel
Or simply, if its not broke don't fix it??
Help

I know it's tempting to go down the tackle tart (sorry....) route, I have been there myself. But this early in your fly fishing career you might do better thinking about watercraft, strategy, tactics and presentation than worrying about small differences between items of equipment all of which are fit for purpose....
