Its been over 50years since i have fished a river in the uk, my questions is i am thinking about trout fishing on the tweed are the different beats signposted or does one get a map that shows you which part of the river you can fish once you have paid for the privelage.sorry if this sounds a daft question but i would not want to get pinched for poaching.thanks

If you are thinking of the Peebleshire TFA part around Peebles then there are maps on their website which gives info and you can buy Day Permits online but not seasons which give the best value .

Depending on which part of the Tweed you are on each association has differing policies.

I fish mainly in and around Coldstream pop into Clarks newsagents in the High street to buy your permit, they will give you a map that shows the beats and fishing times.

Some fantastic fishing available but try and venture away from the more accesible beats.

Maybe better at the cheap beats, real fishers not snobs who sit in huts all day talking about fishing.
