Default Split cane fly rod

Hi

I have a three piece split cane fly rod and reel. I'm told it should be quite valuable so I would like to have it valued for insurance purposes. Is there somewhere I can take it in the Stirlingshire area to have it valued?

Default rod prices

sorry to be a spoilsport, bur rods do not make the same type of money that reels do.even famous ones like hardy, scottie and clan.but if your reel is a good make it will be worth a few bob

jim

PS take it to an auction house rather than a tacle shop for valuation

Tosker,

The rod has a name and model?
The reel has a name and model?

Would help in order to receive responses with some substance.

Cheers,

I would imagine when people say it is valuable they are talking about a few hundred quid, not actually thousands

Don't know about the rod but the reels a Strike Right Wonderflo. The rod and reel originated from the Durham area if that helps?

Strike Rite wonderflo ,hmm if not mistaken my Granny bought me one of those late 1950s ,she being Aberdonian it would not have been expensive then, but I think I still have it buried away some where ,used it for Dapping in the 70s.
Definitely not a classic !
