Smile River Fishing in the South of England

After having spent a fantastic afternoon on The Test at Timsbury on Saturday (thanks to Darren Lewis) I would love to do more river fishing.

Can anyone suggest inexpensive day tickets in the Hampshire/Surrey area.

After searching online I can only seem to find day tickets for around £150 per rod! I bet its lovely but well out of my price range as I would love to do it regularly.

Cheers,
Craig

Couple of ideas for you Craig;

1. Head on down the M3 /A31 into Dorset for the Piddle (particularly) and the Frome....recommended....

2. Check out stillwater fisheries that offer river beats as well, these can often be fished on a combined ticket. From my own fishing, Avon Springs has a nice stretch of the upper Avon, and the section of the River Dun at Holbury Lakes also gives some interesting and challenging fishing. There are several others of course.

3. Have a look at Barton Court, on the Kennet above Newbury.

If you drive up the Stockbridge road from Romsey, about 3 mile you cross over a bridge, that's the Test it is clearly marked "TEST" on the side, take the next left turn and drive down a very rough old road, I can't remember the name of the farm, but you will see it, last year was 30 quid a day, 15 quid for grayling, it's very good fishing.......

I think this is the place, http://flyfishingvenues.co.uk/venue.asp?venue=616
I'm pretty sure...............?
