STORM 2 is on a distinguished road
Default River Hodder at Whitewell

Hi
I used to visit this river many times as a child to play on the stepping stones. Having moved south I hadn't been back in years. Now I have a two year old I brought her back to the river I used to visit. Now that I try to cast the occasional fly, I was struck by an overwhelming desire to return quickly with rod in hand.
I have fished the Wharfe for brownies a few times but the Hodder looked fantastic on that day.
Does anyone know if the Hodder can be fished on a day basis in this area, and which club is involved in looking after the river?
Although a member of a local club, I'm not in Lancashire enough these days..
cheers

You can fish the Hodder on a day ticket up at Slaidburn - from the village stores and PO. There are some really nice pools there. I don't know of any day water nearer Whitewell. The WTT directory says there's some at Dunsop Bridge but that's the only mention I've seen of it and I have never enquired. PAAS has some water at Hodder Foot and there's EA day ticket water on the Ribble at Mitton not far from Whitewell.
