Default Derbyshire Wye video

Upstream of Warren's stretch (hence careful wading & single upstream nymph allowed as well as single dry), but wild rainbows and browns in evidence. See particularly the second fish caught by my host for a little cracker of a wild r/bow. Solid muscle and fresh out of the paint shop.

Absolutely beautiful Paul G. Loved the video - what a great place. Why the ear grating wedding video music though? I know you can turn the sound down but I love to hear the background "natural noise."
Lovely place- I'll forgive even the music for scenery like that.

I really should stop torturing myself by watching these clips

Never mind it's not long now

I was lucky enough to fish there myself a couple of seasons ago and loved the place. What about those huge fish up in the gorge?

Cheers Reg, apologies that it's not to your taste. The difficulty with natural sound is that the noise really jars between different clips when the clips are heavily cut together. In this this film - I only took about 45 minutes of footage on the day - as I was fishing the rest of the time!! - but to mark up and edit it down into the 7 minute film took almost a full day as there are lots of cuts. I do use some "generic backround noise" at the beginning - but this is looped and repeated to cover the cracks between different cuts. If you do that too much, it becomes really obvious that the sound is disconnected from the pictures. When I bring up some short clips of backround noise (like my helpful observation that "that was a good fish that!!" right after it savaged Chris's dry fly and then vanished)- I use the music to mask the fade in and fade out of the natural sound.

Sewin - the gorge is fantastic (and probably doesn't get fished as much). Biggest I've had was around 4 and a half pounds of "lively" wild rainbow.

There's a time and a place for classic tracks and half way through a beautiful video about wild streams and wild trout is not it! I too thought the film was fantastic but the soundtrack reminded me of all my mates wedding videos from the 1980's or a night down the local working mans club with the old boy and his electronic piano/drum machine.
Paul G explained the reasons very well. More films please Paul G. Great stuff indeed!

When I get chance I'm going to re-compress my urban park fishing video as I'm not happy with how it appears in its current form.....

I'll also probably put some samplers of my full DVD on youtube too so people can see if they like it or not.
