Default first of the year.

My mate John and myself went for a days fishing today. It was tough going i can tell you. By 1pm we had 5 fish each. At 1.30pm the sun shone and we saw some fly life......midges and the odd olive. We saw a rise for the first time this year (not been out very often, but it was the first rise we'd seen). John quickly tied on one of his olive patterns in order for us to share the rod (in case it was a false dawn).Within 5 mins he hit a lovely grayling. After half an hour we had 2 fish each on the dry fly. the hatch was over and we walked merrily back to the car to go home...........with a song in our hearts. Say what you like..........there is nothing like seeing a rising fish come to your fly of choice and feeling the tightening of your line...........I love fishing!!! Have you guys caught many on the dry fly this year?? tell all

Deano
