The new system seems to log you out if your gone for more than 5 minutes,
so if your going to be writing a book.(joke) best to copy and paste or file, In case you are logged out.

Thanks for the replies. If only I knew what a cookie was! Jim, is it easy to cut and paste or too much for an idiot like me?

Hold down the left mouse button and drag it over the text you want to copy. It should now be highlighted. Then EITHER right click the mouse and click "copy" in pop up menu OR hold "CTRL" and "C". This is just the keyboard shortcut.

To paste, simply right click again and select paste. If you wish to use shortcut it is "CTRL" and "V".

Hope that helps.

For the record i have not had to log in since i started using the forum. Just logout and then log in again and select remember username and password. Easy as that.

I've had this kind of thing happen to me before, very frustrating. For the reference of anyone it happens to again, sometimes (though not always) pressing the "Back" button on your browser will take you back to the page where you were typing and it may still have what you wrote. Then you can copy and paste (as above). Log back in and try again.
