I have been lucky enough to have been given a few boxes containing small cock and hen saddles. They are labelled accordingly but i suspect some of them may have got mixed up so is there any sure way to tell the difference between the cock and hen saddle patches?

These are cock hackles -



Pointy and spikey.

These are hen hackles -



Soft, webby and rounded.

Only that cock hackles are stiffer and hen hackles softer.
