Default Bit of help with a Greys GRXi Reel

Hi guys. Does anyone know how to change a Greys GRXi reel from left hand to right hand wind and vice versa?

If it's the same as the GRX is (and I guess it will be) you need to change the position of the two screws on the spindle.

Normally they are set up as:

OOX
OOO
XOO

And need to be moved to:

OOO
XOX
OOO

Hope this makes some sense.

I don't know about the GRXi.but if its the same as the GRX.you unscrew the 2crosshead screws on the inside of the front plate and move them round to the next matching threaded holes.

If its the same as the GTX then you carefully remove the O ring from above the hex clutch on the spindle on ''inside'' of the back plate.you may need a pin to do this.when removed you lift of the hex clutch and turn it over .put back on spindle and replace O ring.

I've got one still in it's box which I assume will have the instructions in it. I'll have a look tonight or tomorrow morning and let you know.

When you take the spool holder off the back frame, you will see a round disc, held in place with 2 small screws (as mentioned in previous posts). You will also see that there is a small spring loaded pin sticking up through the disc.

Undo the screws, and lift off the disc, then you will see that there are actually 2 of these pins. now replace the disc so that the other pin is now sticking through the hole. Re-screw the disc (using the other holes as mentioned in other posts) and that should be that.

There are different instructions for the 5/6wt and the 8/9wt...
Both are there in the instruction leaflet, but make sure you're reading the right ones.

It's dead simple, BTW.

Cheers, Castaline
