Default AT and Sport England

Hi Simmo,

Just had a look for the first time at the AT website and I find it a cheek that Sport England are asking (no telling) members of AT affiliated clubs that 1,000 must respond to their survey if they are to receive any funding when Sport England have withdrawn money for the England fly fishing set up.

Do a search for Bewl, Rutland, Grafham, Hanningfield, Dever, Avington or Chew on the AT web site and you do not get a single result - says it all really.

Cheers

Gillaroo

Simmo,

S&TA are not becoming part of the AT due to their recently gained charitable status but are (I thought) game fishing's governing body and lobbying voice. Baz seems to be advocating joining AT on the CEFF web site and some clarification from CEFF would be good - especially regarding future funding from Sport England - will it only go to coarse anglers if we complete the survey as well?

I really don't mind getting the money out and joining as long as it is beneficial to the future of angling as a whole but for game anglers who fish competitively it's all pretty confusing at the moment. I just hope we aren't left in a grey area between AT, Sport England, CEFF and the S&TA. Ray has an article in the Bewl Angle this month and I'm sure Baz is on the case.

Cheers

Mike
