Default how many C and R

This is a lead off from another post and no apoligies for making it.

What do you consider if on a catch and release ticket is a sufficent amount of fish to catch in a session?.

Hi Englander, any size really, for example, if your on a huge water and its just been stocked and you hit all the new stocked fish what would you stop at or would you keep on going.I know it would vary due to size of water but talking in general.

Depends. once you've had enough sport call it a day. personally i wouldnt want to catch fish after fish that were all the same size species and shape... i'd give up after a few. if the stock fish were rainbow/brown and there were some small ones, some large ones and a monster or two, i'd try and try until i'd weeded out a biggie. That said i wouldnt just keep flogging until a big one came along, i'd look around and try and winkle one out. i dont see the fun in hauling out the same fish over and over.

Havent had that problem yet as I,m still new to Fly fishing. But I know what
it,s like from a sea fishing point of view. Mackeral being the only comparison
for the first 20 minutes for the newcomer it,s brilliant but after a while it
becomes tedious. Even when you fish Mackeral for bait you only take what
you need.

The reason is that some just wont stop and keep going and going. Its as if they have a blackout and stopping for a tea goes out the window.Trance encurs, to an almost comatose state and come to when it gets dark.

The belief then is that you are a superhuman fisherman and after catching so many fish when does enough become enough.

Still you pays your money and then its upto each individual after that I suppose.

Not sure this will go down well.. but here goes..

Are you trying to say that you pay you £30 (or so) and after a couple of hours (or so) you hit the fish, you land a couple and think this is too easy lets move round the corner i might not catch there..

How often in your fishing career can you say wow i had 15 fish today. Not many i would guess so why not on that rare occasion when you have hit the spot should you not enjoy the sport.

regards Mick.

on one of the "put and take" waters I very occasionally fish there's not c & r limit, but there is a time limit. I normally go for a 4 hours session about once every 2 years!

Very true Mick 15 is rare, but there is places where you can hit alot more than 15 and 50 plus can be had.

Valued opinion which is what its all about ,appreciated.

If I get one its a good day ,2 and its alot.
£30 is alot on my pension glad I dont have to pay that up here.
regards

When i fish my local water which is not C&R and you are only allowed 4 fish i catch one then have a coffee and a blether and make my day stretch out.
I was on a C&R water and one Angler was boasting to me he was on his 20th Fish,
i dont see the point, i couldnt bend to let 20 fish away, bad back,
Anglers against C&R always bring this up, Anglers getting on a good peg and not moving.
