If you buy cheap flies they will fall to bits after a few casts - spend a bit more and they will last longer.

Have a look at www.impactflies.com

whichever you choose, I'd say go for a company that tie there flies on proper hooks, not those '£2 for 1000' hooks, there rubbish, try hook a fish on them.

try fishtec, they do decent flies for around the 50p mark, nothing fancy, just proper fishing flies. And you cant go wrong with having a look at fulling mill, they do some good flies.

Thumbs up

Hillsdiscountflies out of Yakima, Washington (State). Been purchasing from them for years ...... never had a reason to even raise an eye-brow based on quality. Well, once years ago.

Jim replaced the flies in less than a week.

They have a 'full on' web site so you can see each of what he carries, price (single or quantity), etc.

Flies are what catch the fish so i would quite happily pay good money for good quality ones, you get what you pay for so a 50p fly will not last at all and will look like s***e, thats my opinion anyway

Try www.theessentialfly.co.uk. They are decent quality at a very reasonable price, do not fall apart and are superbly packaged with excellent service. At a little bit more but superb quality flies approach Morayflyfisher on here and/or see his website www.morayflyfisher.com. His service is also superb.

Fastmail I would say for cheap flies, some of them are actually really nice flees. I would contact Morayflyfisher though he looks to be on the ball with it and will come up with something to suit you.

You definitely get what you pay for with flies. I can put up with cheap flies which fall apart after a few fish but I can't put up with losing a decent fish because a poor quality hook straightens or snaps.

Fliesonline are cheap but the materials are not the best.

Fastmailtackle are also quite cheap but are better quality in my opinion.

Flybuyer (Fulling Mill) are not pariculary cheap but they are great quality and if you buy the 'tri-pac' flies they work out at about 75p each, which is pretty good in my opinion.
