Default March issue FF&FT

Just got the march edition of the magazine today and is one of the best issues of any magazine i have read for years, thay have really upped the game on they're competitors. If you intend to fish Ireland in the near future they are some great articles on the fishing on offer and some cracking fly patterns,a real lough fishers dream,Oliver Edwards article on the mayflies is also excellent and his nymphs are simply breathtaking .Really impressed with it and is certainly offers better value for money than its competitors, any one else pick up an issue.

Actually on the yellow may - and frankly all the better for that. One of the most valuable and thought through articles I have read for a long time and all the better to redress the balance on this fly which (as OE points out) seems to have a reputation derived from its lack of importance as a food fixation for trout on the southern chalk streams rather than it value to those of us used to more sporadic hatches of the rain fed rivers of the North. OE's argument as to why this is the case is compelling and the imitative patterns are excellent and (for once)easy to tie!

Yep, a good issue.
They are way ahead of the other magazines in every aspect from article mix to general graphic design.

It is a very good mag, but they could perhaps employ a proof reader.

Nice blog. Nice fly. They hatch sporadically but regularly on the hodder and are usually taken enthusiastically on the beats I fish. I once saw a fish come 6inches out of the water for one in the air. The yellow f fly usually works - as per O E recommendation. The pciture on the Hodder-Ribble thread is of a fish which was taking yellow mays and went for the f fly.
