Default Not sure what a tacle tart is, but I think I'm getting there

I've just received Sportfish brochure, Gosh what an amazing amount of tackle and in my opinion, how do these folk stay in business, once a fly fisher gets a rod, reel, line, flies and a few odds and ends, he's more or less set up for life, I spend very little on tackle, unlike a float and worm fisher....! they can spend a small fortune on ground bait etc; and the need a 4x4 to transport it to the fishing ground, I've been at the game now for many years, 70 odd, I have replaced my rods and lines as time has passed, I couldn't stay with the old split cane and silk Kingfisher lines, excellent as they all were, the only thing I can think of is, there must be a hell of a lot of folk entering into the game to keep places like Sportfish etc; in business. yet I don't seem to come into contact with these newcomers, maybe I'm just old fashoned, ingnore me and I might go away......Bless you all, keep spending, it might improve the economy, or, more likely, mrsportfish's bank balance.

How do they stay in business? It is down to people like me i think, who never reach a state where they think there collection is "complete", and constantly succumb to the temptation to get another bit of tackle. I have only been fishing for about 2 years, and yet have 15+ coarse rods. I have yet to cast a flyline, yet have already bought 3 fly rods...

It's a blinking disease Pete, there is always something that takes your eye.
And after you've bought it, you wonder why.
Never mind keeps the world turning as you say. we are all big kids at heart I think.

I've found although coarse fishermen have a lot of tackle, it's pretty cheap (unless you're one of those pole fishermen, now that is ridiculously expensive). when I started fly fishing I couldn't believe the price of the fly rods and reels, compared to float rods. As for ground bait, you can't go wrong with mashed bread
