Light hearted fun.... and white lies!?!

Need to get out fishing, but it means coming up with an excuse to tell the wife, Preferably something that won't cost me money! For example - "here's my credit card, treat yourself"! Any light hearted suggestions or even jokes in general welcomed!

Cheers for the suggestion, been pondering it all morning, however if I say that I am worried she will shove the end of my beach caster where the sun doesn't shine! Ha ha!

An old coarse fishing mate of mine used to pack his gear the night before, set the alarm for 5 in the morning, wake up,nudge the wife "sex or fishing darling?" usual reply was "put a hat on dear it looks as if it could be a cold one today" and if the reply was the other then , sod it ,fishing's not that good a sport.

white lies white lies.... say the lads have asked you to go watch the afternoon game at the pub. then you have all day to fish, and also go to the pub for the evening game, and she wont expect you back till some time in the wee hours of the morning....
