Default overwintered fish

Seeing as the water has been frozen for a while now, does it mean that when it clears, the fish in them will be overwintered Lol.

I have seen this term crop up a few times, as a newcomer to the sport what does it actually mean?

It refers to a fish stocked the previous season that has survived through the winter into the next season.
Generally they are quite highly prized as they can be larger, fitter and fuller finned than recently stocked fish.

Yes, that really is a nice fish. Beautiful proportions and a perfect tail.

Yes a prime example of an overwintered rainbow. you can see clearly on the bottom of its tail where it has repaired itself since stocking.
