What's that old Dave Clarke Five song........ Catch me if you can!

Two vehicles in the top photo, I can't believe they were both locked?

It isn't as if someone is going to come along and steal them in the middle of the arctic!

Besides, who was taking the actual pictures show? He seems to have been more interested in taking photos than helping his mate!

www.snopes.com says... maybe.

I can't find the first pictures of the guy running around the cars, but the last image, the one of the injuries, is linked there to a polar bear attack on a campsite in the Yukon. The last image may not be directly related to the first images.

Warning - there are some images on Snopes.com, should you search for "polar bear", which people may find distressing - strong stomach required.

I won't post a link to the page as people can click on those accidentally or without thinking.

Cheers,

This may be a case of someone adding the last unrelated picture to the original series of photos.

The first pictures circulated last year and were (allegedly) of a Canadian survey crew working out of Yellowknife. The text that accompanied that series said no one was injured.

I'm willing to put up with black bears when fishing, they just aren't that big of a problem. Grizzly bears are marginal, depending on the situation. Polar bears would be a no-freaking-way, unlike the other bears I've read that polars have been known to actively stalk humans. Not good when fishing and camping.
