On a friday in The Sun ( I think it is a friday) there is a small bit in the sports section dedicated to fishing. In december there was a 'text in the bloody obvious answer to a stupid question for £1 and the first 50 right answers win this marvelous prize.' Or words to that affect.

I forgot all about it until my neighbour came round the other day saying the postie had left this as it wouldn't fit in the letterbox. Totally baffled as I hadn't ordered anything of late I opened the packet and lo and behold fresh for 2009 a calendar of the name 'Women in Waders'!

It is what it says on the tin. Scantily clad (very tasteful I might add ) in bikinis etc are (not top drawer IMO) attractive women holding a variety of fish for each month pretending this is what they do everyday.

Just wondered if anyone else 'won' this prestigeous prize?!

I missed the boat on Scratch's fishy calander and also as I don't read the newspapers... I'm afarid I missed out again!

My wife, colleagues and friends think I'm a bit sad being a fly fisherman. For me, 'Women in Waders' would do nothing to allay their feelings. I mean waders aren't sexy even on babes like those. The models must think Jeremy Beadle is around the corner when someone asks them to put them on and pose sexily or the camera.

judging by the number of views, I think a lot of forum members expected to see the pages of the calander!

I discovered the calander last year and bought one for Mr MG. I got him and my Dad another one this Christmas. I just think there lots of fun and as a woman they do not offend me. The girls used in the callander and not the total skinny *****es either which is good to see. I also bought one for my boss and I got transferred to accounts! No bother as the crack in accounts is much better.
