The best book and one I will always recommend for a beginner starting flytying is "beginners guide to flytying "by Mann and Griffiths
This is so easy to understand and learn the basics you will need for all your tying it retails at £10.99.Well worth the money.
"The fly tyers bible" by peter gathercole is also excellent and I have both and an asset for the future tying and for reference.

Excellent book just right for the beginner really like the section on core techniques. Also like the fact its spiral bound so it lies flat on the table. I have also got the Fly-Tying Bible but theres enough in the beginners book to last you a while.

Default Veniard's book

The edition published (if you can get it) has super instructions for tying as well as the components of lots of flies.
