Question Does your fishery run a tagged fish kitty?

Quite a few years ago we started to run on behalf of the angler a tagged fish kitty.it cost the angler an extra pound and if they caught a tagged fish they would receive £100 as it is now.It has over the years built upto this ,now been running for a while.
The idea was and still is for me a non profitable compy and run on behalf of the angler and they benefit as its THEIR money and NOT the fisheries itself.Just adds a bit of spice to the days fishing with a chance of a wee bonus.

So does your fishery, that you fish, run a tagged fish kitty and how does it work?.

Jonathan at Dalgetie Castle was running a tagged fish kitty when I went up there over Christmas. Prize was £85 IIRC.

Farmoor 1 has some tagged rainbows in it. I had my first one a couple of weekends ago. No prize but the weight and condition are added to the returns book.

Sharply springs run one, few tag fish in the lakes £1 an entry and it just keeps building up till one gets caught i think sure i heard of some one getting a £1000 out of it, which if you get 100 or so anglers a week it wont take long to build up

Harpsdale fishery (most northerly Troutmasters water in Britain) runs a tag system.
£1 in and £100 if you catch a tagged fish.
Have managed it once.

Thanks for your input guys,I was interested as I believe it should be non profit making as its your money and if a fishery is actually benefiting from it then you might aswell be paying an extra £1 on your ticket.
Have heard some stories which for me is not in the interest of why we did it,but thats down to the fishery itself and the anglers who choose to enter it under those rules at them.
On a catch and release ticket you pay for the poundage of the fish and the remaining money from the £100 goes to the angler.Which is fair I would say being on a catch and release ticket and not entitled to take a fish and still being able to walk away with a fair bit of money.
