Default Knots

Hi all,

Was just wondering what type of knots you all use to attach flies to leader? Do you have different knots for different flies? Do you wet the line before you tighten the knot?

Also, do you have a quick and easy knot for those days when the light is fading fast and the trout are rising and you've just lost your fly and you want that famous 'just one more cast' and you really can't see?!

I have always used a half blood knot but have found that sometimes the fly can move in the knot no matter how hard I tighten the knot. I have been practicing with the Uni-knot or clinch knot and that seems much better.

Cheers

The Grinner Knot is about the strongest I've come across. It is also quick and easy to tie.

never got along with blood knots, there not always suitable.
i use a grinner knot, any good knot book or general fishing book should have it in.
higher knot strength than blood knot, has less constriction around the eye of the hook

Half blood knot. No problems with it so far.
