Default Book Swap

This Christmas I managed to acquire my second copy of Brian Clarke's 'On Fishing' .....from the same person that got me the first one

Anyway, got me thinking.. I wonder if a 'Book Swap' thread could work on here? Many of us collect and hoard angling books, good, bad, and ugly.. therefore this idea probably wouldn't be much use to them. However, some of us just want to keep certain reference works and favourite 'classics', and other stuff becomes redundant and sits there gathering dust. Maybe you've outgrown some instructional stuff, or almost died of tedium halfway though some weighty tome, or simply doubled up as I have Maybe you just got what you wanted from a book and would happily trade it for something else that you haven't got round to buying yet?

Here's the plan then...

Simply announce your 'offer' (the book/s you want to trade) on here, and your 'want' (the book/s you would like). Hopefully, you will soon get matched with someone who feels this is a good trade.

If offers and wants don't initially get matched up, the keep an eye on the thread and maybe a 'triangular' situation will occur.

I guess in order to keep the thread tidy, any 'offers' and replies should be made by PM, then as and when a swap is completed, the book/s are deleted from the original post.

Whadya reckon? Well, I'm gonna give it a try regardless cos I don't need two copies of Mr Clarke's 'On fishing'.

Offered - Brian Clarke - 'On fishing'

Wanted - Denis Moss - 'Trout From a Boat'

or - Stan Headley - 'Loch Fishers Bible'

I've got a copy of 'Newly from the sea' by Sidney Spencer that despite numerous attempts at reading I cannot gleam a single rational fact from.
Maybe it's a salmon fishing thing but to my mind a book filled with the sort of sentiment along the lines of "On some days you will find a fish that will take a certain fly and on other days not!" is about as much use as a broken leg.

So, enough of the hard-sell. Anybody got anything to swap it with?

(Apologies if this tome is regarded as some sort of 'migratory fish' bible.. but it is total pants).

Andy
