Default Need Assitance

Hi, can someone help me out here, I'm on making a few Priests, & I'm wanting to make some a bit more decorative. I've seen these before, but for the life of me cannot suss them out.

Basically I'm wanting to put a fly into some clear acrylic, to fix to one end of the priest, you know the fly in the amber type...like on Jurassic Park.

Don't know if you can buy these ready made, to be honest I'd rather make them myself. So, could anyone point me in the right direction to obtain this clear acrylic, I think that's the right name,

Thanks in Advance,

BF.

No - it is clear acrylic you want.

As Jim says, get yourself to a Hobbycraft shop where you can buy it as a two part process - resin and hardener.

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated, needing it to decorate one end of these priests I'm making, just something different from the usual.

There a variety of different embedding resins - I've used polyesters and epoxies - never seen acrylics but can't think of any reason why not.

Small fluffy things are a bloody nightmare - it is so easy to get air bubbles trapped in the resin - this is going to have a really steep learning curve.

Hi Downstream, thanks for the link. I've cast Chess Pieces before, but not this Resin, I'm looking forward to it.

Not thinking on the Small Fluffy things, more like Fly's etc, anything to do with the Fishing side of it, just to set the Priest off a bit, something different,

Cheers,

BF.

Hi BF, are you making these to sell, or just for mates etc?

Hi', BF, I think Downstream is saying that flies (Little fluffy things ) have attendant air bubbles when immersed and set in clear resin. I have 2 desk paper weights, given me by a lady who used to make such objects locally. They were free from bubbles, but I was told they can be a problem.
The priests loook very 'swish'. TC
