They tend to run a lot of fishing on Sky 240 and 242 for a month and then switch the emphasis to something else. My guess is that there will not be much in January and then in February or maybe March it should be back.

It's also worth keeping an eye on Sky 280 which shows Hywel Morgan's series and "On the Fly with John Bailey" which actually does not have a lot of fly fishing. Also, Tight Lines on Sky 403 at 7pm today has Charles Jardine as the guest.

The programmers from SKY all need sacked. The fishing programmes have gone and everything is repeated constantly

It's not Sky themselves, it's Discovery Channel.

I understand they stopped commissioning new fishing shows in 2007 and now show endless loops of repeats which I am reluctant to to continue watching as I am becoming word perfect on some of the scripts. Shame - the last 2 new series they did, Paul Young's Fishing Road Trip USA and The Compleat Angler - were both pretty good efforts.

Well worth keeping an eye on Horse & Country as Sewinbasher says. Sometimes there are very good one offs there, late last year they showed "Tom's River" about Tom Williams, the famous old head keeper at the Longford estate on the Hampshire Avon - quite an old film (mid-1980s ?) but superb.

In fact Sky 280 is fishing for much of this evening, first the Game Fair fishing then Hywel Morgan plus John Bailey right now and again at 02:00 tomorrow morning.

There are moves to try and get the new series on Impossible Catches by Martin Bowler and filmed by Hugh Miles (A Passion for Angling) onto TV, not much fly fishing but some truly fantastic catches on camera - 30lb river pike, 5lb river perch, 15lb barbel etc.
