Unhappy Adjusting jawtension on Regal vise?

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum. I hope I give/take some advice based on experience on this forum. Anyhow, I have a small problem I someone can help me with.

I recently bought a pair of midge jaws for my Regal Med. vise. The problem is, that when I put, let's say a TMC 900BL #18 in the vise, the jaws "crush" the black finish on the hook. It's not like it pressing the hook paperthin, but it makes a small dent in the hook where it was positioned in the vise. It doesn't seem to make a difference in breakingstrain, but I find it a bit odd though. Is this normal or can I adjust(loosen) the tension on the jaws?
