Default Sandison's "Rivers & Lochs of Scotland"

Greetings and a very happy New Year to all...

Could anyone remind me of the date of the most recent edition of Bruce's masterpiece, and maybe even point me in the direction of a copy costing less than about £100? (latest quote from abebooks and amazon )

I think I've seen references to a 2002 edition, and I'm sure he was talking about a 2008 update (back in 2007), so maybe there's a 2009 edition on the horizon?

Any info gratefully received...

Cheers all!

Theo

I managed to purchase my 1997 copy from Amazon back in July. ( £70.00 ) I am not aware of any other publications since '97'. The 'Forward' asks that the reader 'Send In' amendments in support of a future edition, ' To be published at a later date'. So, we live in hope.
Rod.

Bruce has been working on a new updated edition of "Rivers and Lochs of Scotland", which he hoped to have completed by the end of 2008. Hopefully, it will be available soon.

Just my luck. I gave away a first edition-- I think it covered 600 lochs -- when I bought a new revised 1992 edition, which covered 1000 lochs. Still, no point in dwelling on it, a friend got the pleasure of reading it, and what's dosh?? TC
PS Just for curiosity, what's the going rate for a 1st. Bruce Sandison isn't listed in the catalogue of our local 'book man', David Grayling. Nsw there'e a nice name, for a nice man, I hear.

Terry,

There are some of the early copies of Trout Lochs on this site but currently none of the Rivers & Lochs book which is the one that is harder to obtain and more costly.

Bruce has always been very helpful to me in the past with queries, so why not contact him directly. His address and phone number is easily googled - try Bruce Sandison, Hysbackie.

Otherwise you can borrow my copy, which dates from the early naughties. Email me if you want it. Many 'borrowing' copies sit gathering dust in the club
