Default Most effective fly 2008?

Well it's getting pretty much to the end of the year and I've been reflecting on last year's fishing. One fly which has stood out for me this season is this variation of the wooftah, which I think may have been developed by the competition folk for the midland reservoirs (I can't claim any development input here by the way - I found the original in the car park at Stocks ). However, it has worked on every reservoir I've tried it at last season, from Stocks to Chew.

I was wondering what your favourite/most effective fly was this year - new or old?

I have to agree Marra, this version, I think known as the 'Harry Hoofter' is a good version of the original.

But my most succesfull this year for me has been the Green ribbed Hot Heed JC Diawl

All year round fly has been PTN.

Devastating fly during its hatching period was a Sedge

Wish I'd have known about the Harry Hoofter earlier, I'd have ordered some to put on the Christmas tree

Best flies for me: Olive Fritz, Diawl Bach, Black Ghost.

Best fly for me - GRHE in its various forms. Mind you, I rarely fish anything else.

White cat booby, any line and in various sizes. Catches me hundreds of fish every year. Second to this would be my SS diawl bach.
