Kinkell bridge is where the forum trip went and by all accounts a very good place.

Default river earn

no wading at kinkell bridge, hard to fly fish from the banks as river tree lined for much of it wouldn't reccomend it for fly fishing trotting a maggot yes.

Not on the Crieff AC beat, maybe on some of the lower beats - Dupplin?

As far as I can see you can't wade on the Dupplin estate beats either. I fished the crieff water today and managed one grayling (my 1st) and the no wading rule was a pain. I felt very restricted in where I could fish as there are also lots of trees but it adds to the challenge i suppose!

Well done on your first grayling

Your correct the no wading makes the Crieff water very difficult to fish with the fly but come the trout season, when wading is allowed, the fishing can be excellent. There are a couple of bits where I can get into the water and wade up the middle of the stream and cast to fish on either bank. Kinkell is actually a wee bit easier to fish the fly from the bank.
