Hi and welcome.

7/8 should be fine. I had a pair that lasted a couple of seasons hardish wear.
Good value for money.

Hi and welcome to the forum..

With stockingfoot waders, it's best to go for a boot that is one size bigger than you would normally take to allow for the thick neoprene sock. Make sure the neoprene socks on the waders fit perfectly as too much movement can lead to wear.
Let us know how you get on..

Looking forward to your future posts.

Debbie..

I have been using the Wychwood breathable waders and for me they are a good fit. I am a bit of a short and widish one and they are just right at a medium.

I have not tried the boots, however the socks are thick and this time of year I am trying to force as many socks on as possible so I'd go one up. My Orvis's are not as generous as I hough they would be, but they will fit perfectly in the summer. I have the light weights which are great .......... unlike the clear waters which I didn't rate.

Hey up & welcome barbus

I'd go for the 8/9s on the Cinderella principle - you can always wear an extra pair of socks if they are on the large size but you don't want to go chopping your toes off to make the 7/8s fit :-). As flygirl says, it's usual to buy a size larger. If you are able to buy from a shop where you can try them on it may save on return postage.

I don't know about the Wychwoods, but I've got the Orvis Clearwaters and they've been fine - plus, there's the Orvis guarantee if anything goes wrong on the seams etc..

I'm with Marra Boo on Boot sizing. I always go two sizes up to compensate for neoprene and a thick sock.

Edit. I also wear an old pair of socks outside the neoprene bootee to help prevent wear from gravel etc.

Boots-wise I just bought some Bison boots for £35 delivered from tackletrade on e-bay (although I noticed on the delivery note they were actually from reels n deals at Newmill fishery). Got them on recommendation of mrtrout and very good they are too. Also come with a set of studs, talon stud fitting tool and spare laces. For a size 9 foot (me), the 10s are just right when worn with the Wychwood all-season chest waders I've just bought (large size) - also on rec from mrtrout. Those waders are neoprene legs (stocking foot) with breathable upper half and can be found on offer for £40-50 from GAC and other places just now. Or there's the Bison full breathables on e-bay/Newmill too (~£90 for waders, boots and wading staff).

As jeffr has mentioned, the Bison boots are IMO a better buy than the Wychwood boots. I am a size 8 shoe and the boots are a size 9 and they fit perfectly over the neoprene socks.
The boots also have a removable insole which would allow even more room if needed. Hope this helps.
