Default Looking for accommodation near Chew and Blagdon

Hi all, I am planning a trip to Chew and Blagdon in May 2009. I have noticed the Seymour Arms Hotel in Blagdon, can anyone please give an opinion of this hotel, or recommend another hotel along the same lines as the Seymour Arms, close to Chew and Blagdon. I have also noticed that there are no motors on the Blagdon boats, do you have to supply your own electric motor?. Thanks in advance.

This may be out of date but I stayed at the Seymour a couple of years ago and it was OK but I think has changed hands a couple of times since.

For an electric motor I used this chap:

Engines:

Andy Campbell
Ash Tree
Garston Lane
01761 463211

Last time I looked the Seymour looked a bit scruffy but the Blue Bowl [01761 221269] is pretty good and halfway between the two lakes. A bit further out, only 5 miles or so is Cameley lodge http://www.cameleylodge.co.uk. I can post you this years 'Buzzer' Bristol Water mag that has a couple of pages of B&B and Hotel options, and reviews of the waters.
And ditto the motor 07766 022726 is Andys Mobile. Careful driving down that lane mind.

Not sure if your visiting these lakes for practise or just casual fishing, but the Spring International will be on Chew the 2nd week of May. So you may want to skip this week as the fish will receive alot of attention at this time and maybe before... I think the teams are staying at the Centurion Hotel.

We usually stay with Chris at the Seymour Arms but he did have a woman doing the cooking who was pretty horrible! Think she was on her way out last time we were there. Also, Chris will give you the latest info if you ask nicely and buy him a pint.

Cheers

There is only one place to stay when your down that way. The Live & Let Live looks on to Blagdon. Superb hospitality.
