Hi alljust a quick question about a new fishery thats opened near DUMFRIES ?? Its called ALDERNUICK and is heading out towards STRANRAER road. I phoned the lady today and she seemed very nice. The average is 3lbs to 6lbs. Has anyone out there fished it or heard how it fishes? Fancy a wee go thru crimbo hols

Hi pal ,i dont know exactly BUT she says to go thru first roundabout and then take 2nd turning off the next one and pick up signs from thereher advert will probably be in the angling page of the daily record this week again on the friday. if not ill SEND YOU THE NUMBER ,SORRY I HAVENT GOT IT WITH ME RIGHT NOW .HOPE THIS HELPSM8

Right, heading out of Dumfries on the by-pass, go over 'the glen' ( steep going up, steep going down ) When you get to the bottom you come to a mini-roundabout, turn right signposted Terregles. Take that road for about half a mile and then take the turning on the right, look for the sign that says Cleuchbrae and Collochan. Follow that road straight onfor about 2 miles (don't go to Cleuchbrae, go past the turning for it), you will come to a very bendy section of road running downhill and quite steep and then you come to a fork in the road - turn right, it's a very sharp right, then it is the first on the left.

Or, head out of Dumfries on the Terregles road and get into Terregles village. Turn left at the crossroads at the war memorial and follow that road for about a mile. you will come to a fork in the road, bear left, down the hill and it the first on the left.

I have never fished it and I don't know anybody who has, I spotted it about 6 months ago when I was taking a shortcut and made a few enquiries. It hadn't been stocked at the time and it certainly looked quite new. Where can you get a ticket and what are the prices?

Great directions m8 .as i said to COUNTRY JOE the other nite ,there advert is in FRIDAYS DAILY RECORD.The lady said its fishing great,its £15 for 4hrs ,1 fish and then catch and release to allow for stock rotation she said.dont know other prices tho m8 ,hope this helps
