Question Heron on a road light

I was travelling along the A80 today as a result of work and at one point noticed a Heron roosting / resting on a street / road light on the the West bound carriageway. Later on I saw what I take to be the same bird roosting on a road light on the East bound carriageway. This was around mid day so I don't know if the bird is roosting there over night or all the time.

This was on a road light close to the Driffield sewerage treatment works but there weren't any burns or ponds in the Heron's view.

Here's the question:

They've started clearing trees for the new M80 which is starting soon. Has this Heron been roosting in these trees and now that they're gone has it decided to roost / rest on the road lamps as well ?

I know this is not a fly fishing thread but thought some folk would be more likely to contribute if it wasn't in viewpoint. Not that I'm knocking viewpoint.

Thought of that one, it must've been waiting for the lights to come on if it was.

Very strange, 2 nights before at dusk. 1ml away on the blackwood/Drumgrew rd, I observerd on every streetlamp on a half mile stretch a pr of crows and it looked like they were settling down for the night, I think they were looking for the warmth, I think this is something that needs a bit of research.

On the A48 - there#s a couple of lampposts that often have cormorants - and on the same road by the new Amazon building you can often see buzzards using them as hunting stands.

Quote:
I saw a peanut stand
Heard a rubber band
I saw a needle
That winked it's eye
But I think I will have
Seen everything
When I see
An elephant fly

I saw a front porch swing
Heard a diamond ring
I saw a polka-dot railroad tie
But I think
I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly

I seen a clothes horse
He r'ar up and buck
And they tell me that a man
Made a vegetable truck
I didn't see that
I only heard
But just to be sociable
I'll take your word

I heard a fireside chat
I saw a baseball bat
And I just laughed
Till I thought I'd die
But I'd be done see'n
About everything
When I see an elephant fly
