Default Best shooting head running line

Any recommendations on the most suitable shooting head running line material on the market these days(will be using floating and sinking lines)?
also what is the best knot to use to get the most seamless join if not using hollow braid?

Cheers
Mark

I followed a recommendation from Jim "3lb Grayling" on here earlier this year and tried Airflo Polyshoot in both floating and intermediate. It's pretty good, a great advance on mono. Thanks Jim !

I am a total heathen and use a nail knot, I am sure cleverer people than me have more advanced ways to join a head to its running line.
